Anna's Cabin is located on the south shore of Grand Lake Colorado about midway down the lake. The site was selected by my grandmother, Anna and her close friend Nora, both from Alma, Nebraska, during September of 1908 as a retreat from the August heat in Southwest Nebraska. The cottage is really a duplex owned by my family but originally the two families purchased adjoining lots and had Anna's father, Charles, build it during the summer of 1909 spanning the adjoining property line. Anna's son John, his two boys and their children still use the west half while they rent out the east half, "Anna's Cabin," by the week, or multiples of a week, during the months of
May, June, July, August and the first two weeks of September.
